During the PlayStation State of Play event, SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio revealed a playable demo for their upcoming action title, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The free demo is now live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, giving fans an early look at the game’s over-the-top pirate adventure starring Goro Majima.
In the demo, players can explore a section of Honolulu, battling enemies using Majima’s Sea Dog and Mad Dog combat styles. The action then shifts to the hidden pirate haven Madlantis, where players can test their skills in real-time ship and deck battles at the Marine Arena’s “pirate colosseum.” This brief preview highlights the full game’s open-sea exploration, ship customization, unique crew-building system, and an epic storyline.
Pre-orders are open now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and PC (Steam). Early buyers gain access to Ichiban Kasuga and Nancy for their crew, along with two of Ichiban Kasuga’s iconic outfits for Majima. An English voice-over patch will be available on Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’s release day—February 21, 2025—letting fans experience the newly added English performances.
Set after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, this standalone adventure follows Goro Majima, who awakens shipwrecked and amnesiac on a remote island. Players will journey across the open seas in search of answers to Majima’s lost identity, assembling a crew, upgrading a custom ship, and conquering new territories and pirate vessels along the way.
