Destiny 2: Heresy Act II Launches Today with Fresh Content, Guardian Games, and More

Bungie has officially launched Act II of Destiny 2: Heresy, introducing an array of new activities, gear, and seasonal events for players to explore. Highlights include the new Court of Blades three-player activity, the return of Guardian Games, and an ongoing Moments of Triumph event celebrating Guardians’ achievements throughout the year of The Final Shape.

Court of Blades

Inspired by the original Destiny’s Court of Oryx, Court of Blades sees three-player teams battling escalating waves of enemies in a bid to claim the throne of the Taken King. Featuring rune-based mechanics that let players modify their playstyles on the fly, this brand-new activity offers five new Heretical Arsenal weapons, fresh artifact mods, and high-intensity encounters for veteran raiders and newcomers alike.

Guardian Games 2025

Kicking off the same day as Act II, Guardian Games returns with a renewed focus on friendly competition between Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters. This year’s event adds Rushdown, a boss rush-style PvE gauntlet in which players face off against powerful enemies from previous campaigns, Seasonal missions, and Exotic quests. Each run contains up to five bosses, with at least three guaranteed to drop a Guardian Games weapon from the event loot pool. Conquering the highest-difficulty Expert mode gives players a shot at fully Masterworked Guardian Games weapons.

New and Returning Loot

  • Keraunios (Arc trace rifle) – The newest Guardian Games weapon, boosted further by artifact mods introduced in Heresy.
  • Taraxippos (Scout Rifle), The Title (Submachine Gun), Hullabaloo (Heavy Grenade Launcher) – Returning favorites available alongside Keraunios.
  • Allstar Vector Skimmer – A hoverboard-style sparrow replacement that players can keep after completing the “Drop In” quest.

Medallions and Contender Cards
Guardians can earn class-specific medallions by completing in-game tasks, bounties, and challenges from Eva Levante in the Tower. Medallion Tiers—Gold, Platinum, and Diamond—offer escalating rewards and difficulty, with Diamond medallions limited to two per week.

Event Armor
Both new and returning armor ornaments (inspired by a gold-adorned Olympian theme) are available in the Eververse shop for Silver or Bright Dust. As ornaments, these items can be applied to non-Exotic armor pieces, letting Guardians personalize their look.

Moments of Triumph

Running in tandem with Guardian Games, the Moments of Triumph event invites players to complete Triumphs across the game to earn exclusive rewards, including the coveted MMXXIV Title. By achieving specific milestones before May 6, 2025, at 9:59 AM PDT, Guardians can unlock Bungie Rewards offers for items such as a Moments of Triumph T-Shirt, a Light and Darkness Pin, and the MMXXIV Title Pin.

Looking Ahead: Act III and Rite of the Nine

During the recent Heresy Act II Developer Livestream, Bungie teased Act III, slated for release on April 1, with more activities for Guardians to tackle. This includes the Rite of the Nine event—free to all players—that breathes new life into the Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghost of the Deep dungeons. Rite of the Nine will feature new modes, dungeon weapons with striking Nine-themed aesthetics, and a tiered difficulty system appealing to both seasoned raiders and newcomers.

Act III will also mark the return of the Sunless Cell strike from the original Destiny and introduce a high-octane PvP mode called Heavy Metal, letting players pilot Drakes and Brigs in vehicle-based combat.

With Act II of Destiny 2: Heresy now live, Guardians can dive into the newly launched Court of Blades activity, compete in Guardian Games, and continue to check off Moments of Triumph goals for exclusive rewards. As Bungie prepares to roll out Act III in just a few weeks, the Destiny 2 community has plenty to keep them busy in the battle to uncover new secrets and earn top-tier loot.
