Palworld, the creature-collecting and occasionally offbeat co-op title from Pocketpair, just received a significant new update that brings crossplay support, a photo mode, and a host of quality-of-life improvements. Best of all, players can now sit on chairs and cushions without their characters defying gravity.

Crossplay Now Live

The highlight of update v0.5.0 is the arrival of crossplay across all available platforms. If you’ve been wanting to team up with friends on PC, console, or elsewhere, you can now party up effortlessly, regardless of hardware. This opens up broader social possibilities and gives new meaning to “palling around.”

Photo Mode and Storage Solutions

Also in the patch is a new photo mode—accessible via the Pal Command Wheel—for capturing snapshots of your favorite pals and scenic backgrounds. In addition, the update introduces:

  • Global Palbox: Transfer pals between your different worlds.
  • Dimensional Pal Storage: Offers ten times the capacity of a standard Palbox and is available to all guild members—ideal for hoarders or groups coordinating large-scale pal collections.

Cosmetic Armor and Crafting Enhancements

Players can now customize their character’s appearance with the Cosmetic Armour System, allowing aesthetic gear to take center stage without sacrificing stat bonuses. There’s also a new drafting table feature, letting you combine lower-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity versions—handy for those looking to refine and upgrade gear.

The Joy of Sitting (Properly!)

In a small but amusing note, the devs have finally addressed the quirk that made characters “hover” when attempting to sit down on chairs. Now, you can settle in normally without looking like you’re bracing for a dirty public toilet seat or floating in mid-air.

Other Tweaks and Fixes

The update also includes various balancing and specification adjustments, such as:

  • Building overlap: Structures can now be placed even if they overlap slightly with a pal (though hopefully no accidents ensue).
  • Reward adjustments: Tweaks to elemental chests and NPC event rewards.

For the complete rundown on changes and fixes, head to Palworld’s official Steam page. In the meantime, feel free to gather your pals, pull up a newly functional chair, and snap some group photos in the game’s updated world.
